Extended Background Check

  1. As a company you must apply for an Extended Background Check at the Authorization Office at the Administrative Centre of the Danish Police for each employee applying for an ID-Card for Billund Airport. You can apply right here.

  2. If the employee resides in Denmark and has their civil registration address in Denmark, they will automatically have MitID. In that case, they will shortly after you have applied, receive an e-mail from the Danish National Police, containing a link that must be signed by using their personal MitID.

By signing the link from the Danish National Police, the employee gives consent to the Danish Police to collect information from the Central Personal Register and the Police Register during the case processing and throughout the whole approval period.

Please note, the e-mail from the Danish National Police containing the link may in some instances end up in the spam-inbox.

As a company you must also apply for an Extended Background Check for those of your employees who do not live in Denmark, and therefore do not have a civil registration address in Denmark, and consequently do not have MitID. To find out how to proceed, you must contact the Authorization Office at the Administrative Centre of the Danish Police at the following phone number: +45 70 20 14 74.

The case processing by the Danish Police can take up to 20 days from the time the link from the Danish National Police has been signed by the employee.

You will receive the Extended Background Check in your company’s e-Boks (digital postbox). Billund Airport does NOT automatically receive the Extended Background Check.

As a company you must cancel the Extended Background Check with the Authorization Office at the Administrative Centre of the Danish Police when an employee is no longer employed within your company, and therefore no longer holds an ID-Card for Billund Airport through your company.
